How Will Surgery Help?

Surgery treats our patients’ cancers by assessing, removing or restoring your tissue. Surgery can occur at several points in your journey. These points include:

  • A biopsy to help diagnose cancer
  • Surgery to remove the cancer
  • Reconstruction of a breast or other tissue removed
  • Possibly re-operating at a later time, if the cancer returns

To learn more about cancer surgery, see this surgery page on Cancer Care Ontario’s website.
