Spiritual care chaplains usually have an academic background in theology, complemented by practical experience in pastoral care.

Our spiritual care chaplains provide guidance to help our patients draw strength from their belief system or religious faith, as they go through their cancer experience.

This guidance is particularly important as cancer survivors often report that they look at their faith or their spirituality in a new way and many find comfort in it. For some, it may get stronger or seem more vital. Others may question their faith and wonder about the meaning of life. Many patients also put a new focus on the present.
