Physiotherapists combine their in-depth knowledge of the body and how it works with specialized hands-on clinical skills. They use this expertise to assess, diagnose and treat symptoms of illness, injury or disability. (Canadian Physiotherapy Association)

They must pass a standardized physiotherapy competence exam and meet national entry-level education and practice standards.

In collaboration with our oncology team, our physiotherapists provide physiotherapy  after a patient has had surgery, radiation treatments or chemotherapy. They work with our patients to reduce their pain, help them regain their strength and mobility after these cancer treatments. This work includes helping our patients manage swelling conditions, such as lymphedema, that can occur after surgery or radiation treatment.
